The week before ESWC even began my area was hit by a large hurricane and had no power, flights were all cancelled and delayed. It was a battle but I finally found a way to make it to Paris in time. My expectations were high from outside sources and family that had been to France and live there as well.

As I arrived it was raining and I took a taxi to the Hotel we were staying at and I went with our team to the event. I wasn't exactly "impressed" and was still annoyed after the complications at the airport, but it was still a cool first out of country LAN and my first experience in Europe.

Although there wasn't a vast abundance of known DOTA 2 players, we were still able to play versus shiba gaming, a few unknown teams, and versus Na'Vi in the finals. I believe we could have done better in our games overall but it was our first LAN experience as a team and we did our best at the time, and of course it was a pleasure to play against one of the best teams in DOTA and DOTA 2, Na'Vi.

Besides the games and the event, my team and I overall disliked Paris. The sightseeing and tourism was obviously a great experience and awesome to see, but the food wasn't very good, it was very expensive, and French people for the most part were extremely rude. Overall I believe it was a great experience for all of us to get to know each other and to finally meet ODEE and the rest of the Team Dignitas players.
